1. What is Luggage Protection?

Luggage Protection, powered by Blue Ribbon Bags (BRB), ensures assistance and compensation if your checked baggage is delayed or lost. BRB actively tracks your baggage with the airline, and if it’s not returned within 96 hours, you receive coverage from €1,000 per passenger — regardless of the airline’s decision.

2. How does it work?

  • Luggage Protection is included in your Travel Care plan.
  • Once your flight details are registered, BRB monitors your checked baggage in real time.
  • If your baggage is delayed or lost, BRB steps in to locate it and coordinate with the airline.
  • If not returned within 96 hours, you receive compensation according to your plan, starting from €1,000.

3. How do I activate SmartDelay?

1. 

When you purchase Travel Care and provide your flight details (PNR, passenger names, travel dates), these are automatically sent to BRB.

2. 

BRB issues a Service Contract and sends it to you by email. This includes:

  • Your BRB Confirmation Number.
  • A link to report any baggage delay.

3. 

Keep this email safe — it contains everything needed if you experience baggage issues.

4. What should I do if my baggage is delayed or lost?

1. 

Report to the airline immediately at the baggage claim desk. Obtain a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

Go to the link provided in your BRB confirmation email.

3. 

Submit

  • Your PIR number.
  • Your BRB Confirmation Number.

4. 

BRB will begin tracking your baggage and providing updates.

5. What is the coverage amount?

  • Coverage starts from €1,000 per passenger if your baggage is not returned within 96 hours of your scheduled arrival.
  • The exact coverage depends on your Travel Care plan.

6. How will I receive compensation?

If your baggage is not delivered within the covered time frame, BRB will issue the payment directly to you, regardless of whether the airline compensates you.

7. Does this replace airline compensation?

No. This is an additional benefit that works alongside any airline compensation you may be entitled to.

8. Is there a limit to how many times I can use it?

You are covered for each eligible flight under your active Travel Care plan, for all passengers included in the booking.
